21 Harris Street

Featuring a blend of glass and stone tiles forms the unique appearance of this facade.

This project has been one of the most challenging one we have fabricated. Standard glass size of 3.5m x 3.5m, new equipment had to be purchased to unload and glaze this huge glass of around 800kg each.

The stone tiles that wrapped around the vision area are assembled on a special frame designed with aluminium extrusions and bent sheets to hold these heavy tiles in place uniformly. Extruded and cut to size in Germany, these grey tiles introduces texture and uniform lines, allowing the building to stand out amongst the crowd yet remain aesthetically reserved.

Artistic renders that were printed and placed around the factory had excited staff and piqued much interest in this project.

21 Harris Street eventually is named ‘Workshop’, a vision for the workplace of the future. Offering an open, biophilic environment that drives creativity.

SLA worked closely with Capstone and Ausrise to bring this complex project to life, ensuring the curtain wall panels and slab edges are shipped on time to meet the installation schedule on site.
